About

Maeve McCaffrey was born at home on her family’s small organic farm in Vermont, the youngest child of four, with three older brothers. She was raised in an environment of health and wellness, music and creativity. Their farm also housed a natural food store and her father bought and sold rare books. This eclectic upbringing is how Maeve was first introduced to yoga. Her mother, a former ballerina, practiced and taught yoga in her circle of friends. Before she went off to kindergarten, she would often sit in on her mother’s yoga practice.

Movement and sports came naturally to Maeve, but by today’s standards, she was a late starter into organized athletics. She spent most of her early years acting and playing music..In sixth grade she started soccer, playing into college, she started gymnastics in high school and was a sprinter on her high school state champion track team. She first joined a gym at 16 and started teaching fitness at 20. It was through sports and fitness that she came full circle to yoga to keep a healthy body and mind.

While in college for Marketing Communications, Maeve began teaching a robust schedule of fitness classes which began to take a toll on her body. One of the clubs at which she was teaching added a yoga class after her last class of the evening. She decided to stay one day and it became part of her weekly routine. A few years later she began an Ashtanga practice and soon after took her first teacher training.

Maeve has worked in many facets of health and fitness for some of the most elite brands in the industry, e.g., Public Relations for IHRSA; top tier Private Trainer, master trainer and group yoga/fitness instructor for the Sports Club/LA; Yoga and Fitness Instructor, Teacher Trainer and National Director of Teachers and Programming at YogaWorks; and Yoga and Group Fitness instructor Equinox where she teaches many classes including her signature format Mind Body Fit.

A New Englander at heart, Maeve now happily resides in Los Angeles with her partner, their son and two cats Liu Liu and Little Mister.
